Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy offers a mode of addressing both the after effects of childhood adversity and the daily challenges that parenting can place on the nervous system. Working somatically supports us in becoming more attuned and responsive to the current situation so we are no longer reacting based on past experiences or going through life on autopilot.

I offer Brainspotting in my sessions, which is a gentle and effective method of accessing implicit trauma memories that can be held below conscious awareness. I also incorporate a blend of other approaches informed by Somatic Experiencing, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness.
